Nemesis, or MEE6, Dyno and Carl-bot?
All four are established Discord bots and none of them is wrong. They are built for different jobs. This page says which job each one is good at, including the ones where Nemesis is not the best answer.
The short version
Nemesis is the better fit if you want
- Moderation, logging, tickets and raid protection in one bot, so your staff learn one system
- A bot that never asks for the Administrator permission
- Ban appeals and staff applications, not just punishments
- Per action records with IDs, so a punishment can be found, edited or reversed later
Another bot is the better fit if you want
- Music playback, games or a large economy system. Nemesis has none of these
- Deep custom command scripting or embed building (Carl-bot does this well)
- Leveling for a very large public server with years of tuning (MEE6)
- A bare moderation bot with a long track record and nothing else (Dyno)
Where they differ
Scroll the table sideways on a phone. Competitor details were checked in October 2026 from their public pages. They change often, so confirm anything that decides a purchase on their site.
| Nemesis | MEE6 | Dyno | Carl-bot | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best at | Staff workflows: moderation, audit logging, tickets, raid mode | Leveling and engagement on large public servers | Straightforward moderation with a long track record | Automation, reaction roles and custom commands |
| Administrator permission | Never requested. Five core permissions, four optional ones scoped to a module | Not compared here. Check the permission list on each bot's invite screen rather than taking a summary's word for it. | ||
| Tickets | DM tickets with transcripts, plus ban appeals on Pro | Ticketing available, with transcripts on its paid tier | Not a core feature | Not a core feature |
| Raid protection | One command raid mode with pattern detection that can end it automatically. Free | Automod rules, no dedicated raid mode of its own | Automod rules rather than a raid mode | Automod rules rather than a raid mode |
| XP and leveling | Yes, free, with rank cards, level roles and import from MEE6, Arcane or CSV | Yes, its strongest area | Basic | Yes, on its paid tier |
| Custom commands | Not a feature. Nemesis does not try to replace an automation bot | Basic custom commands | Custom commands with variables | Advanced, its strongest area |
| Music and games | None | Games and extras | None | None |
| Free tier | 17 of 23 modules, no member cap, no time limit, no card | Each bot gives away its core free and sells extras. Current limits are on their pricing pages. | ||
| Price | Free. Pro $10/mo for the first server and $8/mo for each extra. Elite $22/mo for five servers | Paid tiers are billed per server on MEE6 and Dyno; Carl-bot sells transferable server slots. See each site for the current figure. | ||
| Hosting | Hosted, nothing to run | Hosted, nothing to run | ||
Switching from one of them
You do not have to run one bot. A common setup is to keep MEE6 or Carl-bot for the community extras and add Nemesis for moderation, tickets and logging. If two bots share a job, switch one off: two bots deleting the same message or logging the same event just doubles the noise in your log channels.
If you are leaving MEE6, XP is the thing people worry about losing. /importxp takes a MEE6 export, an Arcane export or a CSV, so members keep their levels instead of starting over. Moderation history does not transfer from any of these bots.
Common questions
Is Nemesis a replacement for MEE6?
For moderation, logging, tickets and raid protection, yes. For leveling at large scale, MEE6 has been doing it longer. Nemesis does have XP with rank cards and level roles, and can import levels from MEE6, so switching does not reset progress.
Is Nemesis a replacement for Dyno?
They overlap on moderation and logging. Dyno is a long established, simple moderation bot. Nemesis adds DM tickets, ban appeals, raid mode and XP. If all you want is a moderation bot, Dyno is fine.
Is Nemesis a replacement for Carl-bot?
They overlap on reaction roles and logging. Carl-bot is stronger for custom automation and embeds, which Nemesis does not try to do. Nemesis is stronger for staff workflows: tickets, ban appeals, Quick Mod ladders and a per action audit trail.
Can I run Nemesis alongside another bot?
Yes. Nothing in Nemesis requires it to be the only bot, and modules can be switched off so two bots do not clear the same messages or log the same events.
