Ban appeals

Ban appeals without a separate appeal server.

A ban is the one punishment a member cannot ask about, because they are no longer in the server. Nemesis closes that gap with a DM ticket that reaches your staff with the original case attached.

The problem with the usual setup

Most servers handle appeals with a second server, an appeal form link, or a support email nobody watches. All three lose the context that matters: which punishment is being appealed, who issued it, and why. A staff member then has to look it up before they can judge the appeal, so appeals sit unanswered.

The member side is worse. A banned user cannot open a ticket in your server, cannot see your form, and often does not know the reason beyond the sentence in the ban modal.

How appeals work in Nemesis

Any ban Nemesis issues carries its own id, reason and the staff member who applied it. When the banned member opens a ticket from a DM, the appeal arrives in the same inbox as support tickets with that case attached, so the reviewer sees the punishment and its reason without leaving the ticket.

Appeals can be accepted or denied with the appeal outcome recorded against the original case. Notes stay with the ticket, and the history means a second appeal from the same member is not judged in isolation.

  • The banned member opens the ticket from a DM, so they do not need to be in the server.
  • The original punishment, its reason, the staff member and the timestamp travel with the appeal.
  • Appeals share the support ticket inbox, so staff learn one queue.
  • The outcome is recorded against the case, and notes stay on the ticket.

Setting it up

Ban appeals are part of the Pro tier and use the same ticket configuration as support tickets. Pick the channel or inbox that should receive appeals, choose which roles can see and claim them, and decide whether a transcript is kept when the appeal closes. There is nothing to connect and no second server to create.

If you would rather not use a bot for this

A plain appeal form or a support email is not wrong. It costs nothing and keeps the data outside the bot entirely. What it lacks is the automatic link between the appeal and the original punishment, which is what makes answering one fast.

Common questions

Can someone appeal a ban they got from another bot?

They can open a ticket, but the case will not be attached automatically. The appeal still arrives in the same inbox for a staff member to judge.

Do appeals work on the free plan?

Support tickets are free. Ban appeals are a Pro feature.

Does the banned member see other tickets?

No. Each ticket is private to the member and the staff roles configured for that inbox.

Try it on one server.

The free plan does not expire and does not ask for a card.
